SysCAD 9.3 Build 139 was released 25 August 2021. The BETA release was June 2021, and earlier versions were used selectively from October 2020. Build 139 is the fourth major release for SysCAD 9.3.

New TCE Add-Ons The following new Add-ons all relate to flexible integration in SysCAD plant models of third-party thermodynamic calculation engine (TCE) software performing detailed equilibrium and thermodynamic property calculations. Previously in BETA release, they have been significantly improved in Build 139. The direct integration of these specialist software programs in SysCAD provide a significant range of new and detailed applications in the SysCAD flowsheet simulator for a range of pyromet, hydromet and aqueous chemistry systems: PHREEQC ChemApp (FactSage) AQSol Improved Models for each TCE add-on Model Configuration Direct Calc Side Calc Reactor New TCE Models PHREEQC Evaporator Flash Tank Reverse Osmosis Solvent Extraction (Mixer Settler) AQSol Evaporator Flash Tank Reverse Osmosis New Unit Models Material Body	Reactor (Gibbs FEM) unit Significant performance (speed) improvements in Gibbs FEM solver together with a more robust implementation to handle a greater range of conditions. Added UseConvergedSoln option to allow model to use previous solution as a starting point, this can lead to a significant reduction in solve time. For other improvements, click here for detail. Solvent Extraction (Mixer Settler) unit - now allows Multiple Isotherms. This allows multiple reactions within a single unit to be controlled by isotherms, including different elements. Please see here for important Project Upgrade notes. Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger 2 - Added Evaporating Mode and internal bypass options for Sensible HX method. General Separator- New density separation methods allow user to split solids based on density curve. Evaporative Dryer - New SolidsLoss methods allow user to specify fraction/concentration of solids/cake in vapour outlet. Also new option to specify either water or liquid fraction in cake. Simple Heater - New side calculation for required Steam flow to achieve specified temperature. Drum Filter - Added new option to calculate the required internal recycle of filtrate to dilute feed slurry/solids to user-defined solids concentration, representing a feed tank or drum filter bath. Reverse Osmosis now allows Demand to be passed through it, from the Product stream to the Feed stream. Precipitation3 improvements - Agglomeration terms for kernel, rate and collision have been modularised to allow more variation.	Dynamic Unit Model Improvements Precipitator3 Dynamic Mode - added tank level control; improved bypass options; and the internal calculation iterations may be decoupled from the project time step using Safety.TimeStep. Thickener2 model - New overflow control options. Conveyor Belt improvements (these enhancements are also applied to the latest version of Build138) Multi-Storage model- New option to display and report the combined total of all stores in a Multi-Storage model. Includes options to override the temperature. Dynamic Tank displays IOs in order of descending height, also in most recent version of Build138. Slew Rate Controller: user can set the "Output" value when stopped. Output Minimum and Maximum now correctly limits the "output" value. Species Properties Improvements Cp Equation formats - New Gibbs2_Cp equation format for general use, and new HSC2_Cp Equation for adding HSC database data where Cp equation has 6 terms. Steam IF97 equations - For Steam IF97 and IF97_2 equations, these have been merged into a single equation "IF97" (SysCAD 9.3 Build139 Version). Please see IF97 for more information. Vapour Properties - New option to specify normal Boiling Point in species database. This is used as a check on the vapour pressure equation on load. Please see Gas Constants for more information. Potash Solubility - Added new data set from PHREEQC - Pitzer database.

General Improvements Improvements to Flowsheet Printing - New Print Multiple PDF option. This option allows user to print all graphic pages to a single document. This function requires the "Microsoft Print to PDF" driver. Importing Species from HSC Database - Added new import functionality for HSC8 and newer. To use the new import functionality, the HSC COM interface is required. This requires user to have a licensed working copy of HSC installed. Explorer Window - New functionality to allow creating, renaming and activating / deactivating of areas. Also allow drag & drop of flowsheets between areas. New Tag List Document Type. Zip Project - new project command. Menu Commands - Renamed New Window (File) to New Document and Open Window (File) to Open Document. Toolbar - New buttons for New Document and Open Document , to distinguish from the New Project and Open Project buttons. Copy & Paste Improvements - Multiple selections can now be made by holding the shift and arrow keys. This applies to Access and Trend Windows. Project Window - Added "Open Containing Folder" option. Graphics Improvements Reroute Link - New graphics command. This combines the Disconnect Link, Connect Link and Redraw Link commands, allowing user to change the pipe's connection points and pipe line graphics in one continuous command. Change Unit Model - Added a Next button to the dialog box. Graphics Copy and Paste between projects: when pasting the copied graphics into another project, any reference files used by the copied models (e.g.: reaction, pgm, mp, csv files) will be copied to the new project location. Graphic Symbols Library - New Symbols subfolder for Shapes. This contains some basic drawing shapes such as circles, squares and triangles. See BaseFiles\SysCADSymbolsList.pdf Animation - Added option "Send to Annotation" to the Access Window - context menu, this works during Insert Annotation step, engineering units provided will be used correctly. "Under the Hood" Changes See "Under the Hood" Changes	Audit - combined Audit and Closure, new option for Audit by Element, new simpler Basic Audit, global Audit Option selections. Audit layout and tags have significantly changed, see Tag Changes. Links Table - significant rework, includes variable name changes, see Tag Changes Command Scripts - New options to allow Setting and Reporting of Tags from text files. This includes both tag lists and tag tables. Command Script dialog box - New option to allow user to disable logging of commands to Message Window. Demand - New global Demand Threshold parameter (minimum massflow for demand calculations). Composition Fetch - New What.Phase option in FeederSink and Makeup Source models allows user to choose which phase or phases to fetch. Also the CF.Ratio parameter now only shown if the CF.What option selected includes Flow. MultiStep - New Action Command to run the simulation for multiple number of steps/iterations. The number of steps can be set via the Set MultiStep Command. Species View - Molality added as additional view option on the EC tab page. Species used/unused in the Project - Added Species used / unused lists to PlantModel - Species tab. Heats of Combustion - Move Heating Values (renamed Heats of Combustion) option to "Included Properties" list on Qo pages & Plant Model - Views tab. Tags have been updated and new parameter for heating values calculated at 150°C. Tears - can now be displayed by area on the Solver Settings - Tears page. Solver convergence state - can now be displayed by area. Solver Threads - Improved options for setting solver threads. Tutorial & Examples Updated Tutorial documentation. Please see Tutorial in the Help documentation. Example Projects distributed with SysCAD have been updated New Example projects: (e.g.: PHREEQC and ChemApp Examples) Discontinued Unit Models and Functionality Area Model and GlobalArea - Removed. Command Scripts - Removed some unused options (e.g.: CompareScenario) See also models to be removed in next | in future version.	Project Upgrade Solvent Extraction Unit - Projects using isotherm: user must change the old Isotherm method to Isotherm2 in Build138 before upgrading to Build139. Precipitator3 - Projects with Precipitator3, user must finish the upgrade process in Build138 first (instructions here), before upgrading to Build139. Users with existing projects using TCE add-on models (AQSol, ChemApp or PHREEQC) need to manually update the configuration file to contain the TCE database location. Click here for details. The old Screen & Cyclone models have been discontinued since Build137 and will no longer work in Build139. Projects with these old unit models must be changed to Screen 2 and Hydrocyclone models before upgrading to Build139. PGM Variable Name - Maximum length of PGM variable names reduced from 64 to 50 characters. Please update in Build138 before upgrading to Build139. Project will be auto upgraded to Build139 format: All Graphics pages moved to subfolders: DocsGraphics. All Trend pages moved to subfolders: DocsTrend. Other.dat is renamed to Controls.Data (PGM & MP data only). Projects and cfgfiles auto upgrade to always use “IF97” steam equation. Scenarios saved in Build138 or earlier will not load in Build139. If using Hydrocyclone Plitt method - there is a corrected calculation for sharpness term, it is recommended that you change to this. If using EHX Sub Model Loss to Ambient method, it is recommended that you change to the new corrected Loss to Ambient 4 method. Changes that may Affect Results Molecular Weights - The Standard Atomic Weights have been updated to latest values from IUPAC. Steam IF97 equations - now only one choice – “IF97”, “IF97_2” has been removed. Bug fix for H2SO4(aq), user override H2SO4(aq) Cp data now works properly. Precipitator3 changes: Click here for details. Flash Tank 2, Shell&Tube HX 2 and General Separator Bug fixes. Click here for details. Tag Changes Audit and Links Table tags changed. Old tags may no longer work. Heating Values - Renamed Heats of Combustion. Tags will automatically update. Can no longer report on basis of normal volume flow.
