Introduction
This is a subset of the graphics commands which are used to draw and manage SysCAD flowsheets.
Note: SysCAD must be in the Edit mode (stopped) for most of these commands to be accessed.
Delete
Command Button | |
Command Path | Graphics - Delete - Delete |
Short Cut Key | Ctrl + D |
Note: SysCAD must be stopped for this command to be accessed.
This allows you to remove units and links from the active Graphics Window. Note that it removes both the mathematical model and the graphics symbol, as described in Manipulating Graphics. You have to save the project for this to be permanent.
The graphics command called Edit - Change Unit allows the user to swap the existing unit operation type without deleting it first. However, if the reason for deleting is to permanently remove unwanted models, then do the following:
The delete unit command opens the delete floating toolbar:
If you wish to delete a single unit / link, or a number of units/ links which are in the same Graphics Window:
- Select the graphics by clicking with the mouse button. The selected units will turn magenta (or any other colour that has been assigned to the Marked Colour box - See Graphics Windows Displaying Colours).
- If you select a unit incorrectly, simply click and the unit again and it will be unselected and the colour will change to normal.
- Once you are happy with your selection, click (done button) or press Enter to delete.
- When a unit operation is deleted, the pipe(s) that was(were) connected to the unit operation will become "disconnected". The user may use the Graphics - Edit - Connect Link command to re-connect the pipes to a new unit operation.
- To delete a group of units, you can use the (In window) and (cross window) buttons to draw a box around the selection. The selected items will turn magenta (or any other colour that has been assigned to the Marked Colour box See Graphics Windows Displaying Colours).
- Press to delete.
Explode
Command Button | |
Command Path | Graphics - Delete - Explode |
Note: SysCAD must be stopped for this command to be accessed.
This command is used to delete a unit's mathematical model without deleting the graphics symbol associated with the unit. Please also see Manipulating Graphics.
The procedure for exploding a unit is the same as deleting a unit.
NOTE: User should consider using Edit-Change Unit for swapping unit operation types.
Delete Graphics Only
Command Path | Graphics - Delete - Delete Graphics Only |
This command is seldom used:
- It deletes a unit model's graphics symbol while leaving the mathematical model behind.
- The procedure in deleting a symbol is the same as deleting a unit.
- This creates a homeless model.
- Please also see Manipulating Graphics.
To reattach the mathematical model to some graphics, use the Construct Symbol command.
Explode Symbol
Command Path | Graphics - Delete - Explode Symbol |
This command is seldom used:
- It separates or detaches the unit's mathematical model and graphics symbol.
- The procedure in exploding a symbol is the same as deleting a unit.
- This creates a homeless model and plain graphics.
- Please also see Manipulating Graphics.
To reattach the mathematical model to some new graphics, use the Construct Symbol command or use Construct Unit to reuse the graphics.
