Notes on upgrading to Build 126 (from earlier 9.1 versions):

  1. Recommend full install - new example and tutorial projects.
  2. If you wish to use the new Reaction Editor and your reactions files are not kept with the project, create a new subfolder in your project folder called reactions and move all your reaction files into it. Any reaction files which are already stored in the project folder will be moved to this subfolder automatically by SysCAD.
  3. Installation of Reaction Editor
  4. Due to the substantial changes made to makeup blocks, all makeups which were created in a build prior to 126 will need to be reconfigured. SysCAD will not allow the project to run until all makeups in the project have been checked and the ConfigChecked box has been ticked.

Changes in SysCAD 9.1 Build 125

  1. Implemented new Flotation Cell model.
  2. Implemented new Acidity (or pH indicator) display. See Acidity Calculations for further discussion and Acidity to see how the values are displayed.
  3. Implemented significant solver speed improvements especially on dual core PCs for ProBal projects. Change is related to how user interface updates are managed while solving.
  4. The tag position when inserting a model using the default graphics symbol will be below the graphics symbol. The library of all graphics symbols has been updated to include tag positions.
  5. The default graphics symbols for all the models have been reviewed. Some symbols have been changed (e.g. tank), relative scaling improved and the insert points have been centered.
  6. Added ability to print multiple graphics pages. New menu option "Print Multiple..." allows user to select any number of graphics pages in a single command.
  7. For density correction functions, fixed a critical error where the density correction function was incorrectly loaded when a limit is specified (see bug #939). Improved the display on the species data ($SDB) page which now displays solution density for user specified solute fraction.
  8. Some improvements for Makeup block with Makeup Source
  9. Significant improvements in display and management of the new graphics symbols for DirectLinks (with makeup blocks, etc) that were first introduced in Build 124.

Other items:

  1. Added a 'force write' option in SysCAD Marshal to allow user to force an OPC write of all or selected tags.
  2. Improved the access window display of the P&ID control unit to improve usability.

Implemented MStreamI class to differentiate from the MStream class which is now only a reference to an existing object (in other words, can only declare an instance of a MStreamI class).

Notes on upgrading to Build 125 (from earlier 9.1 versions):

  1. As the help files, SysCAD example projects and tutorial projects have been significantly re-arranged and changed, it is recommended that you re-install SysCAD 9.1 rather than simply unzip the latest update of the program files in the bin folder.
  2. Before installing SysCAD 9.1 Build 125, first delete the folders "\syscad91\bin" and "\syscad91\basefiles".
  3. In addition, before installing SysCAD 9.1 Build 125, first delete the folders "\syscad91\examples" and "\syscad91\tutorial". If for some reason you have stored any personal files or projects in these folders, copy these to a different location first.
  4. If these folders described above are removed first, then when SysCAD is installed there will be no confusion with old files.
  5. Take care to not delete, move or rename the license folder if your license is located in this folder.

  11. First SysCAD version released that is 'officially' compatible with Microsoft Vista (32 bit)

Notes on upgrading to Build 124 (from earlier 9.1 versions):

  1. There is stricter testing of specie database entries, in particular for vapour pressure (Vp) data, so specie database errors may be reported when the project is loaded. These will need to be corrected to continue.
  2. As the help files, SysCAD example projects and tutorial projects have been significantly re-arranged and changed, it is recommended that you re-install SysCAD 9.1 rather than simply unzip the latest update of the program files. Before installing SysCAD 9.1 Build 124, first delete these three folders "\syscad91\basefiles", "\syscad91\examples" and "\syscad91\tutorial". If for some reason you have stored any personal files or projects in these folders, copy these to a different location first. If these folders are removed first, then when SysCAD is installed there will be no confusion with old files. This can also be achieved by uninstalling SysCAD before re-installing SysCAD 9.1.

New version: SysCAD 9.1 (Build 120 to 123)

  • Build 120 is first official release of SysCAD 9.1
  • Build 123 is first widely released version of SysCAD 9.1

For notes on upgrading SysCAD projects from 9.0 to 9.1 see Upgrading Projects.

See below for a list of new features and changes in SysCAD 9.1

General:
