List of some recent changes in SysCAD 9.1 Build 126:

Key items:

  1. First version to use the new SysCAD logo.
  2. New Reaction Editor for editing of rct files.
  3. Improved options and display for Makeup Block (MU). This includes new options to control Product Temperature and obtain a specified temperature change. The Simple Control option has been replaced with new options called Product Flow, Product Composition and Product Concentration.
  4. Implemented new Single Variable Histogram model. This model can calculate and display statistical information about one variable.
  5. Implemented new Bivariate Statistics model. This model can calculate and display statistical information about two variables and their correlation.
  6. Implemented new Scheduled Events model. This model can simulate downtime of a piece of equipment due to a scheduled event such as maintenance or plant shutdown.
  7. Implemented new Downtime model. This model can simulate downtime of a piece of equipment due to a regular event (such as maintenance) and/or failure or other causes.
  8. In dynamic mode, the reaction block can now act on the Feed to a Model with Surge, refer to Reaction Block.
  9. Implemented new Insert Symbol command. This allows "dumb" graphics to be inserted without a mathematical model.
  10. In Build 3090, the Heat Exchange Extra add-on has been renamed to Power Plant add-on. The Cooling Tower and Falling Film Evaporator models have been moved from the old Heat Exchange Extra add-on to the Heat Exchange add-on.
  11. In Build 3748, added the LIKE option for Excel Tag Select reports.
  12. In Build 3952, improved implementation of combustion Heating Values.
  13. In Build 4356, added options for managing vapours in tanks in dynamic transfer mode.
  14. In Build 4391, implemented a new gas Compressor model.
  15. In Build 4635, added component molar flow option to the stream view.
  16. In Build 4747, improved implementation of Filter Press model, including addition of new options.
  17. In Build 4791, added warning messages for low liquid Cp and error message for negative liquid Cp.
  18. In Build 5062, added total molar flows to access window for material flows (eg Pipe.Qo). See Material Flows.
  19. In Build 5089, added multi column support for the Set Tag List Model.
  20. In Build 5106, clarified and rearranged some of the specific heat and related access window displays in material flows (eq Pipe.Qo). See Energy Flows.
  21. In Build 5128, minor Excel Reports improvements and allow alternate report keywords.

Other items:

  1. There is now a customisable PGM template.
  2. There is also a customisable reaction file (rct) template.
  3. SysCAD will create a new subfolder for reactions and move any reaction files from the project into this folder.
  4. When using the Insert Unit and Change Symbol commands, the drawing group is now a drop down list. To choose from All symbols, the user will now choose *All* from the drop down list instead of checking the All Symbols tickbox.
  5. Fix for errors when using Isotherm method with Solvent Extraction Unit (Mixer/Settler) model, improved displays and data range warnings.
  6. Improved Falling Film Evaporator model, including new option to specify required temperature.
  7. Implemented test if attempting to load a project that was saved in a newer version of SysCAD.
  8. Improvements and fixes for use of GMT sub-model.
  9. Minor improvements in various unit models Belt Filter, Belt Conveyor II,
  10. Fixed errors in Turbine, Boiler, Desuperheater and Cooling Tower when used in dynamic transfer mode.
  11. Fixed errors for dynamic surge calculations with reactions and with Bayer property models.
  12. Minor graphics improvements: remember tag scale when redrawing links; option to show/hide all unit/link tags separately; improved tag change management for graphics annimation.
  13. Improved tag naming and save/recover options for the DirectLink.
