Introduction

SysCAD is protected by the CrypKey Software Licensing system. The various licensing options and information are explained in the following headings. If SysCAD is not licensed, it will run in the demonstration mode where the SysCAD project size is limited, that is you are only allowed a limited number of graphics and Trend Windows. The number of units and historian data are also limited.

Issue Trial License

Command Path License, Issue Trial License

This will issue a trial SysCAD license for limited period. It will allow new users to evaluate the full functionality of SysCAD with larger projects before purchasing. WARNING: The trial license can only be issued once!

License Location

Command Path License, License Location

This opens the License Location dialog box.

The default location of the license is on the local machine at \SysCAD92\License\Syscad.exe.

If the license is located on the network, you can tell SysCAD the location of the shared network license by using the Browse button or typing in the location (which may be a UNC path) to find the location of the license.

This option is not available if the license location has been forced by using the command line option "/l:" (lower case L for Location) to set the license location. This is usually done when creating multiple shortcuts on the desktop to use license located at different locations.

For normal use, where the license location override option is not used, SysCAD remembers the last license location. This is stored in the file "SysCAD.Machine.ini" in the \SysCAD92\Basefiles folder.
