Mark/Find
Command Path Graphics, Entities, Mark/Find
This command allows you to highlight sets of models. It is especially useful when building a flowsheet originally imported from a DXF drawing. It opens the Mark Entity floating toolbar:
The Attached button activates the show attached mode. In this mode, when a unit (or link) is clicked on, the unit model and all the attached links (or units) are highlighted.
The Inserted button highlights all the graphics entities in the drawing that have been inserted or constructed. This is useful for seeing what graphics has been constructed and what still needs to be constructed on an imported flowsheet.
The text box in the toolbar can be used for finding a tag in a drawing. The current drawing is searched first, then all the other drawings.
Note: The new Graphics Symbols Displaying Colours function provides better visual indication than this command. Users are encouraged to use the new Colour function rather than Mark/Find.
Move
Command Path Graphics, Entities, Move
Use this button to move a graphics entity, unit or link on the currently active Graphics Window. It opens the following floating toolbar:
The graphics symbol is moved by drag and drop and they can be moved individually or in a group. Move the mouse cursor over the active Graphics Window and the cursor will display GRF. Select the entity you want to move by clicking on the unit once if moving a single unit; or draw a box around the units using the in-window and cross-window buttons. If the selection is incorrect click once away from the selected graphics and try again.
Pick a point on the selected graphics (for lining up with other symbols, eg, corner of a tank), click on the point and hold down. Use the cross hairs to reposition the graphics symbol. Release the mouse button to complete the move.
To move another graphics entity, repeat the above process.
The redraw button can be used to update the drawing.
Scale/Rotate
Command Path Graphics, Entities, Scale/Rotate
Use this button to change the scale and/or rotation for a graphics entity - unit or link on the currently active Graphics Window. It opens the following floating toolbar:
(If this Toolbar is not visible, it may have been saved with the incorrect settings. To recover this toolbar see Recovering a Floating Toolbar in the Frequently Asked Questions section.)
Move the mouse cursor over the active Graphics Window, the cursor will display GRF. Select the entity you want to alter by clicking on the unit once if changing a single unit; or draw a box around the units using the in-window and cross-window buttons. If the selection is incorrect click once away from the selected graphics and try again.
Click on the Increase Scale or Decrease Scale buttons to change the scale of the selected graphics. Likewise, click on the Rotate+ or Rotate- buttons to change the rotation of the graphics entities. To use customised scale up factor or rotation angle, use the Dialog button
. Change the position, scale and rotation of the selected unit as required and press Apply. To accept the change, click Accept or press Restore to retain the original setting. To alter another graphics entity, repeat the above process.
The redraw button can be used to update the drawing.
Tag Annotation
Command Path Graphics, Entities, Tag Annotation
This command is used to show or hide unit display tags. The scale, rotation and position of the unit tags can be changed using the Update tag annotation dialog box.
There are two parts to this dialog box. If the set tag position option is not ticked, you can show, hide, or change the size or rotation of the tags by clicking on the unit/s of the active Graphics Window. The selected unit/s will turn magenta (or any other colour that has been assigned to the Marked Colour box - See Graphics Symbols Displaying Colours). When the selection is made, press Apply. The IWin and CWin buttons can be used to make group selections. Alternatively, the Show All Tags or Hide All Tags buttons can be used.
If the set tag position option is ticked, you can reposition the unit tag on the active Graphics Window one at a time. Move the mouse cursor over the Graphics Window, the cursor will display UNIT, click on the unit tag you wish to reposition, and the unit will turn magenta (or any other colour that has been assigned to the Marked Colour box - See Graphics Symbols Displaying Colours). The cursor will now display POS, click in a new position for the tag. You can keep positioning the tag by mouse clicks until you are satisfied with the new position. When you are ready for the next tag, press Next in the dialog box and repeat the above process. Press Done when finished.
WARNING:
Cancel does not undo the commands when they have been applied nor will it reposition the tag once it has been moved, it only closes the dialog box.
Dump
Command Path Graphics, Entities, Dump
This command was used to extract graphics entities drawing information to the Command Window or to a file. This is similar to the AutoCAD function.
It opens the Dump floating toolbar:
Select the units for graphics information dump and press the done
button.
Some graphic entity information will be listed in the Command Window for the selected unit/s.
Alternatively, you can export all units, drawing information to a file by pressing the Dump All to file button. The file is saved in the project folder called SysCAD.dmp.
Insert Symbol
Command Path Graphics, Entities, Insert Symbol
This command can be used to insert a graphical symbol which has no mathematical model behind it (ie. "dumb" graphics). One possible use of this is to insert a border onto a flowsheet.
The command opens the Insert Symbol dialog box:
Graphics are selected and inserted in the same way as graphical symbols are changed (see Change Symbol). Choose the graphical symbol desired and insert onto the flowsheet with a left mouse click. The graphics group can be changed via the Group drop down list. For a list of all symbols, choose *All*.
Once all the graphic symbols desired have been inserted press OK.
